Full Instructions for fitting the TTP SAFE-START

This is my guide of fitting a Triumph Twin Power Safe-start device on my 2005 Triumph 865 Speed master. I accept no responsibilities if it all goes wrong for you, but, it appears so far to have gone well for me! Use the workshop manual and the TTP instruction leaflet as your main guide! My guide is merely a record of my notes on what I did on the two days and is designed to give you confidence to do the job or the sense to seek a professional!!

That said the actual job takes about a day and a half to do as you need to leave the JB Weld used in the fitting to cure for 24 hours. The job was remarkably easy looking back but I was nervous all the time I was performing the upgrade.

Was it worth it? Yes, if only for peace of mind!

TTP SAFE-START

The picture shows the TTP SAFE-START in position when I was trying it out and readying myself to affix it in position. You can see in the middle of the device that I had used tissue paper to block the idler boss off as the white sticky DOT supplied with the kit was just not sticky enough to stay in position.

When you read the full description of the job in hand all will become obvious as to what is going on!

Good luck!
