Well, the holiday to Devon already seems like a long time ago and I am already back at work! However, this little post really just sums up the story of Devon, the broken clutch and leaving the caravan on the campsite whilst we limped home without it!

Monday the clutch was fitted, car collected Tuesday and we tested it out. I still feel dubious about it but it has twelve months warranty so we shall see!

Friday night, all packed up and raring to go, we had a chat and decided to leave at 6.30 am next morning as it was bank holiday weekend. We would pick up my sister in law on the way we would blast down the M5 intent on beating the masses to Bristol and the M5 car park!

Saturday morning we were up early and off we set. We still caught some heavy traffic just south of Bristol albeit nothing like the weekends before and made excellent time to the campsite. including a small 15 minute toilet break we did it in a fraction over four hours. That's 189 miles door to door with a 'stupid o'clock' start averaging just over 45 miles per hour, I still find motorways a drag. In the olden days you could sit at 70+ all day and barely see a traffic jam compared to today!

Anyway, there too early, we registered on the site and went for a look around coming back a little later to find our caravan all parked up on its allotted pitch. We piled the stuff inside, pitched the awning, kettle was on we had arrived!

The week went well, we found the beer festival, but did not imbibe, we found the music festival, had a little listen and watched the carnival, which was really quite good as small street processions go. We will come back next year I am sure!

The pictures below give you a feel of the place I am sure!
